The Wonderful Design of Balcony Houses
Designed to meet the unique character of the area, this new project sets out a straightforward and detailed creative approach aimed at implementing an architectural solution that is locally tailored.
The four-storey building maximizes its footprint to make the most of a small site, tightly kneaded into the urban fabric of Tokyo.
Constructed in reinforced concrete, each floor of the house opens up to 2-m deep planted terraces, acting as barriers between the living spaces and the vibrant public realm while offering residents a protected outdoor space for enjoyment.
The balconies provide architectural relief, along the roadway, as well as a fascinating combination of depths and textures.
Architecture firms has completed a successful project that seems to highlight the common and neglected features that play a key role in shaping the urban landscape.
